Many American seniors are getting stressed and confused over trying to determine if Medicare's Plan D prescription drug coverage is right for them. However, there really is no reason for it. With simple math, the numbers are quite revealing, and it's apparent that Medicare's Plan D is not the best way to go. Buying medications from Canada costs less.Insurance providers currently are registering eligible Medicare recipients to their new "Plan D" prescription drug coverage, a myriad of monthly premiums, deductibles, co-pay amounts and coverage gaps that are confusing seniors who are struggling to make the right (or wrong) choice.
Helen Tsotsos, CEO of a licensed pharmacy in Manitoba, Canada, RF Drugstore, wants to ensure that anyone who is considering Plan D spends the necessary time to carefully analyze the options. A wrong decision could be a costly one for seniors who need prescription medications, but currently have no drug coverage. The U.S. critics of this plan are voicing concerns that the choices tied to Medicare's Plan D are too many and too confusing.
"If you don't properly compare the costs of purchasing meds from RF Drugstore to what you will end up paying through Plan D, there is a strong likelihood that you will end up paying more for your prescriptions than you would if you choose to purchase your medications through RF Drugstore," states Tsotsos.
"We have analyzed numerous purchasing scenarios using current customers we have on file, and the results are quite clear. The savings are definitely better if our customers continue to buy their medications through our pharmacy," states Tsotsos. "We want to ensure that Americans bypass the confusion tied to this plan, and just look at the hard numbers."
RF Drugstore has a drug search feature for pricing medications on the homepage of their website: http://www.rfdrugstore.com.
Due to the efforts of the Canadian government to restrict high prices of medications, Americans save anywhere from 30 to 80 percent over U.S. drug prices when they purchase directly from Canada.
"Because the plan is being offered by insurance providers and not the government, they hold the right to increase premiums, change deductibles, change co-payment amounts, even change what drugs are covered and what are not covered simply by adjusting the formularies that they have initially offered," says Tsotsos. "All of those fears and possibilities are unnecessary if American seniors purchase their meds directly from RF Drugstore."
RF Drugstore is a reputable Canadian mail order pharmacy (Manitoba license #32230) that provides over 2,000 different medications, including all of the top 100 prescribed drugs. It is one of the pioneers of the Canadian mail order pharmacy trade.
