Is Legalizing the purchase of prescription drugs from Canada the Answer?

DAREN JORGENSON'S MISSION

Daren Jorgenson is directing American citizens to challenge the overpriced prescription medication costs and offers light into his online Canadian pharmacies.

Americaputmeoutofbusiness.com website is a direct challenge to all American Citizens to band together and tell their elected officials and political leaders that they are outraged at paying 80% more than citizens of any other country for their prescription medication. Because online Canadian pharmacies offer the same, safe prescription medication at the fraction of what most Americans pay, we hope that the American people will realize this and hold their elected officials accountable for their past and present positions on the issue.

Our mission is for Americans, not Big Pharma, the F.D.A., or other drug companies to put us out of business the right way by electing politicians and political leaders that will bring affordable prescription prices to American pharmacies and American citizens. We want to help you keep informed on this important drug importation issue.

DAREN JORGENSON'S BIOGRAPHY OF CANADAMEDS.COM

Daren Jorgenson is not only a respected Canadian pharmacist, but he is also the CEO of Internet pharmacy Canadameds.com

Daren Jorgenson, a pharmacist, is widely known and respected in the industry as a pioneer and visionary, who founded and owns www.Canadameds.com a privately held Manitoba corporation. He brings to his operations the principles of sound corporate governance, strong moral principles and good corporate citizenship. These guiding principles have helped to ensure for his organizations an operational and managerial structure proving to be superior in the IPS sector. Canadameds manages for results. Mr. Jorgenson is innovative, and he and his organization are absolutely committed to the Canadameds mission - to deliver the highest quality products and services to our customers, in the most efficient and timely manner.

In keeping with his mission, Jorgenson’s related organizations are a professional family of over 150 employees and contractors, all with a focus on providing exceptional value and service to its customers. Since its inception approximately five years ago, the organization’s growth has been phenomenal – with Canadameds and its family of companies quickly achieving revenues approaching $200 million CDN. We attribute this to our dedicated and loyal employees, our rigorous training programs and attention to detail and our commitment to implementing new and better processes, technologies and systems on an ongoing basis. We are currently undergoing a major renovation to our physical and global, operational capacities in order to continue and improve the quality service we currently provide to our customers, and also to ensure that we will meet the ever-growing demands of more and more Americans who could not otherwise afford their life-saving and life-enhancing medications.

Daren Jorgenson business model for utilizing the Internet to market his Canadian online pharmacy.

Jorgenson's business model is to utilize the Internet and other means to market both his companies' services and the products supplied to customers, most of whom are located in the United States.  All prescriptions received are filled through Jorgenson's own, and other licensed pharmacies, or from pharmacies in the United Kingdom and other countries with which Jorgenson's companies have Prescription Fulfillment Agreements in place to ensure level and quality of service. All prescriptions are filled by licensed pharmacists. Again, although Canadameds currently has in-house, additional capacity to fill prescriptions it is anticipating and planning for significant growth.

Daren Jorgenson is committed to the business, charitable and philanthropic communities and interests wherever his organization operates.

The truth is billions of dollars worth of medication is being dispensed each year by Canadian pharmacies for their American patients. Thus millions of Americans individually are able to buy their drugs freely from Canada and legalizing it will not impact them at all.

The truth is that many drug companies are not selling their medication to pharmacies in Canada which they have found out dispense to Americans, if this goes unchecked eventually
the "Canadian Pharmacy Option" will not be available to Americans in desperate need of affordable medication.

There is only one way that Canadian pharmacies can offer a long term solution to Americans in search  of fair drug prices and that is if the US government creates laws in Washington DC that will force drug companies to sell there medications to Canadian pharmacies regardless of whether their patients are American or Canadian.

Bill to allow pharmacies to reimport drugs passes Senate

The Oklahoma Senate backs a drug reimportation plan that would permit state pharmacies to obtain U-S-made prescription drugs from Canada and elsewhere for sale here. The Federal Drug Administration has opposed drug reimportation bills, claiming they violate the Interstate Commerce Clause of the U-S Constitution. Those measures mainly deal with allowing individuals to obtain reimported drugs. Tulsa state Senator Tom Adelson says his legislation avoids that legal question because it would require pharmacies to sell reimported medicines only to Oklahomans in intrastate, not interstate, commerce. Most programs are geared to allowing individuals obtain such drugs by crossing the border into Canada or buying drugs online.

Democrats allege bad deal on drugs

Bay Area seniors are not saving significant money under Medicare's new prescription drug program, according to a report released Monday by most of the Bay Area's House Democrats. The report says Bay Area prices for 2004's 10 best-selling prescription drugs among seniors are 75 percent higher under the new Medicare Part D prescription drug benefit than under deals negotiated by the federal government at other agencies such as the Department of Veterans Affairs. Medicare Part D's prices also are 60 percent higher than those paid by consumers in Canada; almost 5 percent higher than prices on Drugstore.com; and almost 2 percent higher than prices at Costco, the report found. But Republicans who shepherded the bill through Congress rejected a proposal to let Medicare negotiate with drug companies for lower prices. The report proves "what we've been saying since the debate on the Republican Medicare drug bill began," said Rep. Pete Stark, D-Fremont, in a news release. "If you create a privatized drug benefit and refuse to let the government negotiate lower prices, senior citizens and people with disabilities will pay the price," said Stark, who as ranking Democrat on the House Ways and Means Committee's Health Subcommittee is particularly outspoken on the issue. "Instead of attempting to set Medicare on the road to privatization, Republicans in Congress should have worked with Democrats to establish a real prescription benefit within Medicare."
